I have used Google Earth for several years now, and the program never ceases to amaze me. Because of prior use I have used a good deal of the programs features. But this lab assignment did show me a few new tricks...

One thing that I did not know, was that I could measure distance between pins that I dropped using the ruler. The ruler also breaks the distance down to different incriments. For example I could view the distance between two points in miles or kilometers. I also did not know that you could search a location with coordinates, I always assumed you needed an actual street address.

I am definitely looking forward to learning about more features of the Google Earth program, along with other GIS software.
